 The American Society of
Psychoanalytic Physicians is an organization of physicians established for
non-profit education, scientific, and professional purposes. The Society
provides scientific meetings and a scientific
bulletin to foster its aims and to share its goals,
namely research, evaluation of treatment, dissemination of information, to
publish and to recognize achievement and provide professional and
collegial opportunities among its members.
The Society operates
two chapters in addition to the National organization. The
Washington, D.C. Chapter offers jointly sponsored CME meetings in the Washington, D.C. area.
The New York Chapter offers the annual Sigmund Freud Award and conducts
other scientific meetings throughout the year.
Membership in the Society includes many
benefits such as invitations to scientific meetings, subscription to our
scientific bulletin, and opportunities to publish professional
articles. For individuals who qualify, the Society also has an
exceptional arrangement with a malpractice insurance provider.
